Lauren and Sean found us through their photographer Matt Cavanaugh and their wedding planners Lauren + Ruthie of Eutopia Events. They reached out to us, as they thought our wedding films fit exactly what they were looking for: “authentic, not corny and modern/clean.” Their words, not ours, but I thought they described exactly what we strive to produce in each of our Boston Wedding Films.

This Boston couple traveled back to their college stomping grounds of Northampton and Amherst, Massachusetts to tie the knot. Lauren is a Smith College graduate, while Sean received his degree from Amherst College. They actually met at Amherst College when Lauren and her friends ended up at the wrong room and were coerced by Sean and his friends to hang out for the evening. That was their first meeting, but their relationship didn’t start until a few years later.

The bride got ready just a few houses down the road from Helen Hills Chapel on the campus of Smith College. There were so many great little moments from the bride’s preparations that add so much personality and character to this wedding film. The Reception was across the Connecticut River in Amherst at the Eric Carle Museum (right down the road from Amherst College). The Art filled walls created a unique space for Lauren and Sean’s celebration. The couple even created an “art project” for their family and friends, which served as their guestbook.  Enjoy our latest Boston Wedding Film…

As Boston wedding videographers, one of the major reasons we enjoy filming wedding is that we get to meet and become friends with so many great families along the way. We love to watch their families evolve and grow through multiple family weddings and then the babies and children that follow. For JPod Productions, family is a key element to what we do.

On July 4th, as we take a break from our hectic wedding schedule, I thought it would be the appropriate time to share our family. Recently, we hired Massachusetts and Cape Cod Photographer Sarah Gallagher Studios to photograph a moment in time in our family’s life. As much as I have taken and will continue to take hundreds of photographs of our family, it was time to put the camera down and turn to a professional for a day. The greatest thing about the experience was becoming the client once again.  It was a humbling experience to feel the joy and satisfaction of capturing a moment in my family’s life as we perused through the dozens of pictures we received. The investment was priceless. It definitely has reinforced why we take so much pride in creating great family and wedding films for our families. So, on this holiday, I share our family because this is what life is all about! And, I think there maybe even a budding Boston wedding videographer in the bunch.

We, at JPod Productions, were so happy with the response that we received for our first ever Best Wedding Trailer of 2012 Contest! First, I want to thank all of the people who took the time to watch all five wedding video trailers and vote for their favorites.

With that being said, the Winner of the 2012 Contest is Annoula and Mike Bikas! Their wedding had a great ethnic element mixed in with some downtown flair this past summer. They will receive a $250 gift certificate to the home store of their choice.

Using a random number generated, we also selected two voters to win $25 gift certificates to the restaurant or store of their choice. The first winner is Dino Gravenis who voted on Facebook for our winners, Annoula and Mike. The second winner is Michelle Elizabeth who also voted on Facebook and her favorite wedding video trailer was Melissa and Jayson’s film from Saltwater Farm Vineyard.  Thanks again for participating and we’ll see you next year!

At JPod Productions, we strongly believe in investing in our industry’s educational opportunities, as our product has reaped the benefits over the past three years. Last Monday in Dedham, MA (south of Boston), we joined an elite crew of wedding filmmakers from New England to hone our skills on the glidecam. The glidecam is a device that allows us to create “floating”, or cinematic looking shots within our wedding films. The training was led by Dave Williams, (bottom picture) of Cinemacake Filmmakers in Philadelphia and we were fortunate to learn along side two other award winning studios from Boston and Newport, RI. Dave took us through a series of challenges to improve our skill set on the device. Dave Williams also spoke in the New England Professional Videographer’s Association (NPVA) meeting in the evening about running a better business. I’m excited to implement some of my new ideas into our wedding films in the coming months.
